Neolithic Age to be discussed in Turkey

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will bring together specialists of the Neolithic Age in the ancient settlement of Çatalhöyük, located in the Central Anatolian province of Konya, known as one of the earliest human settlements.

UNESCO Turkey National Commission President Öcal Oğuz said Turkey would host two important events this year. He said Çatalhöyük was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2012, adding, “Having the traces of the Neolithic age, Çatalhöyük is one of the oldest and most important cultural heritage places on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This is why it has drawn great interest in the world,” Oğuz said.

Claims that a mosque and tomb have been constructed on the remains of a historical church in Diyarbakır stir controversy, but some officials say it was not a church

1600-year old church area, which was revealed in the eastern province of Diyarbakır in 2007 and launched as a protected site by the Cultural and Natural Heritage Preservation Board, was first destroyed because of the lack of protection and the Directorate of Foundations began building a tomb on the historic remains, which date back to the Roman era.

A l’occasion de sa visite en France, l’Institut kurde organise un dîner en présence du Dr. İsmail Beşikçi et ses collègues Ruşen Arslan, avocat, Ibrahim Gürbüz, directeur de la Fondation Beşikçi, afin de soutenir financièrement cette fondation culturelle basée à Istanbul.

En raison du nombre limité des places l’inscription préalable est indispensable.

Prix des places : 100 €
Payable d’avance à l’Institut kurde

Les personnes ayant réglé leur place recevront un carton d’invitation indiquant l’adresse du restaurant. Chaque participant recevra aussi en cadeau une sélection de livres d'İsmail Beşikçi.

Note importante :
Les personnes qui ne sont pas disponibles pour le dîner et qui souhaitent apporter leur soutien financier à la Fondation Beşikçi peuvent adresser leur chèque de don à l’Institut kurde. Un reçu fiscal permettant de déduire leur don de leurs impôts leur sera délivré.

Toques Blanches Lyonnaises : un partenariat signé avec l’Université d’Économie d’Izmir

Lundi, l’association des Toques Blanches Lyonnaises, présidée par Laurent Bouvier , a signé une convention de partenariat avec l’Université d’Économie d’Izmir, afin de développer des échanges de savoir-faire avec des étudiants de troisième année.

En mai, une dizaine de jeunes seront accueillis chez des chefs : ils se formeront aux méthodes de travail et vivront des rythmes de service soutenus. Le coup d’essai avait eu lieu l’an passé, avec quelques étudiants turcs. À la brasserie « 33 Cité » et chez « Daniel et Denise », ils avaient pu acquérir des bases de la cuisine française et lyonnaise. L’étape suivante de ces fructueux échanges passera par une collaboration avec des écoles hôtelières de Lyon.

À noter que, dès 2012, les Toques Blanches et le club d’affaires franco-turc avaient ouvert le bal : la gastronomie lyonnaise s’était invitée à Istanbul, lors d’un dîner de gala très réussi.

Ancient pieces that have been unearthed since 1965 during excavations at the ancient site of Ani, which is located between the border of Armenia and the eastern Turkish province of Kars, are being displayed at the Kars Museum. The pieces date back to at least 2,000 years ago.

Kars Museum Director Necmettin Alp said the ancient site of Ani was the first trade city from the Caucasus to the entrance of Anatolia and therefore it had international significance.
